Executive Summary<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2025, Haqqi-Awrath Association consolidated its role as a leading civil society organization advocating for women\u2019s inheritance rights and combating economic gender-based violence (EGBV) in Lebanon. The year marked a phase of both programmatic depth and strategic diversification, combining legal empowerment, community-based awareness, adolescent girls\u2019 protection, cultural initiatives, research, and institutional strengthening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite a challenging national context marked by economic instability and social pressure, Haqqi-Awrath implemented and prepared impactful interventions targeting women, adolescent girls, and youth in Baalbek-Hermel and surrounding areas. Through donor-funded projects, partnerships with national and international stakeholders, evidence-based research, and sustained grassroots engagement, the Association continued to translate women\u2019s rights from legal principles into lived realities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Organizational Overview<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Haqqi-Awrath Association is a Lebanese non-governmental organization founded in 2018 and officially registered in 2021 under Decree No. 296. The Association was established in response to the systematic deprivation of women\u2019s inheritance rights, which Haqqi-Awrath recognizes as a form of economic and gender-based violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Association adopts a rights-based, feminist, and community-centered approach, combining legal awareness, advocacy, psychosocial support, education, research, and economic empowerment. Its work is grounded in the belief that women\u2019s access to inheritance and property is essential for dignity, protection, and long-term social stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Vision<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A just and inclusive society where women fully enjoy their right to inheritance and property ownership, are protected from all forms of violence, and are recognized as equal partners, leaders, and rights holders in family, community, and national life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. Mission<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Haqqi-Awrath advances women\u2019s inheritance and economic rights as fundamental human rights by combating all forms of violence against women and girls, particularly economic violence. Through education and awareness-raising, legal advocacy, community engagement, research, and strategic partnerships, the organization empowers women and girls to claim their rights, challenges discriminatory norms and systems, and contributes to sustainable gender-based social justice in Lebanon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Major Programs and Projects \u2013 2025<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>7.1 Cultural and Creative Empowerment<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Project Funded by UNESCO<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Connect and Create \u2013 Revitalizing Cultural Life and Enhancing Creative Expression<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <em>Connect and Create<\/em> project aims to revitalize cultural life in Baalbek, strengthen social cohesion, and promote inclusive access to cultural spaces. The project targeted 100 beneficiaries (70% girls and young women, 30% men).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beneficiaries received training in chess, graphic design, hoop work, videography, photography, weaving, drawing, and screenwriting. The project fostered creative expression, collaboration among local cultural actors, and economic opportunities within the cultural and creative industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>7.2 Adolescent Girls\u2019 Education and Economic Empowerment<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Project Funded by AFD \u2013 Implemented with Ren\u00e9 Mouawad Foundation<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ignite \u2013 Future Queens<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <em>Ignite \u2013 Future Queens<\/em> project aimed to empower 80 adolescent girls aged 11\u201319 through a holistic approach combining academic support, economic skills development, and personal empowerment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Academic Component:<\/strong> Intensive tutoring in physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology, English, and Arabic to strengthen educational performance and retention.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Economic Component:<\/strong> Vocational training in hoop work, knitting, and sweets production, complemented by the provision of starter kits to support income-generating activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Life Skills &amp; Protection:<\/strong> Structured sessions on life skills, gender-based violence (GBV) awareness, inheritance rights, and reproductive health, equipping participants with essential knowledge to protect their rights and make informed decisions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Psychosocial Support (PSS):<\/strong> Ongoing psychosocial support activities to enhance emotional well-being, resilience, and coping mechanisms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Creative Empowerment:<\/strong> A participatory theatre production in development to build self-confidence, encourage self-expression, and challenge gender-based injustice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>7.3 Women\u2019s Economic Rights and Inheritance Justice<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Programmatic Project Funded by WPHF and UN Women<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Project Title: <\/strong><em><strong>I Have the Right to Inherit and Possess<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This project addressed women\u2019s inheritance rights as a core economic and gender justice issue through integrated awareness, legal, and research-based interventions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Theatre-Based Awareness:<\/strong> Performances in six schools reached over 1,800 participants.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Capacity Building:<\/strong> 240 participants trained on gender-based economic violence and inheritance rights.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Legal Support:<\/strong> 60 free legal consultations provided.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Research:<\/strong> 1,500 surveys and qualitative interviews conducted across Baalbek-Hermel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>7.4 Peer Exchange and Leadership Award<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>WPHF &amp; UN Women Award \u2013 Women Have Wings<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This project was linked to an award granted to <strong>Dr. Ouloum Audi<\/strong>, founder and president of Haqqi-Awrath. Peer exchange activities were conducted with <strong>Naba Association<\/strong>, involving reciprocal trainings on inheritance rights, economic violence, advocacy, case management, and GBV referral systems during the first half of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>7.5 Institutional Strengthening<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Project Funded by WPHF and UN Women (Institutional Support)<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This project strengthened Haqqi-Awrath\u2019s organizational capacity through improved logistics, internal policies, emergency planning, strategic development, and staff capacity building to ensure sustainability and continuity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>7.6 Women\u2019s Skills and Resilience<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Project Funded by GIZ \u2013 Implemented with Alert International<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Seventeen women received training in culinary arts, life skills, psychosocial support, inheritance laws, and gender-based economic violence, enhancing their resilience and economic agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>8. Advocacy, Research, and Public Engagement<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2025, Haqqi-Awrath conducted extensive research on inheritance deprivation in Baalbek-Hermel, combining surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions. Findings informed advocacy strategies, community dialogue, educational materials, and engagement with policymakers and community leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>9. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A comprehensive MEL system tracked outputs, outcomes, and impact across all projects.
